6 months and counting

You have started babbling! You began imitating speech after a Friday afternoon nap and didn't stop for 24 hours! I don't think you're trying to tell us anything; you just want to move your mouth and make noises like everyone else.

You're also sitting up really well! You'll sit on the floor in the living room and play with your blocks for an hour straight, no tipping over. Physics are on your side here - a low center of gravity gives you stability like a weeble. Unfortunately, the same effect works against you when you try to stand... I don't know how the teletubbies pull it off but I wish they would share the secret.

You are a cheerful, curious and playful baby, and you get more wonderful every week. We can't wait to see what you've got in store for us!

BTW, your dad went to New York City this month!

6 Months!

I cannot believe half a year has passed! There will never be words to express how much I love you and this time we have together. You are my heart and soul.

Some fun new developments these last two weeks:

* you can sit up unassisted

* you immediately flip over to your back during tummy time

* you love avocado

* you are taking longer naps (please keep doing this!)

* you sprouted another tooth- top right

* you say "mama" (at least I like to think you do)

* you copy us, sing to us, and laugh with us- FUN FUN FUN!

* you study objects like your daddy

* you grew to be in the 90th percentile in weight, although your height isn't quite as impressive in the 25th percentile

* you seem to know the words, "mommy," "daddy," "adventure," "bath," and "look"
